“What a Can’t Fail Culture Costs your Bottom Line” workshop and general meeting for HODN
March 1, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC+0
Join friends, clients, and colleagues for both a workshop and dinner meeting sponsored by the Houston Organizational Development Network (HODN) on March 1st at the United Way of Houston.
HODN’s much anticipated spring workshop will focus on the research of Dr. Brené Brown and what a “Can’t Fail Culture Costs Your Bottom Line”. Guest speaker Laurie Hall is a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator & Consultant (CDWF-C). The Daring Way™ was developed to help people learn how to show up, be seen, and live braver lives with a focus on developing shame resilience skills and developing a courage practice that transforms the way we live, love, parent, and lead. The HODN’s workshop will focus on how The Daring Way can be applied to organizational cultures, while still based on the foundation of individual resilience. This is a hands on, four hour workshop from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. If you can’t make the workshop, you can still join us for a brief overview of the concepts in our regular HODN March Meeting in the evening from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

Event Description: How do people in your organization talk about a past business failures of a team member or the organization itself? Are there hushed whispers and an urge to “not mention it”? Or is failure an accepted part of going for big opportunities? Did you know that the extent to which your organization promotes or chastises failure directly correlates to your organization’s ability to innovate, trust, and be resilient in ever-changing times? Come to our March workshop to learn strategies based on Dr. Brené Brown’s Daring WayTM research. Learn how your organization can transform into a culture of innovation based on a foundation of trust and vulnerability. This workshop will cover the following objectives: 1) Gain qualitative awareness of failure resiliency; 2) Understand the foundation formula for creating and sustaining a culture of innovation; and 3) Increase organizational awareness with a checklist of scenarios and keywords that help define missed opportunities for innovation.
